About The Position

The Data Analyst Intern is responsible for assessing company data to derive actionable insights, identify trends and help the company make better business decisions.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist in collecting and organizing data from various sources, including databases, file shares, and external data sets, ensuring accuracy and completeness for analysis.
  • Perform preliminary data analysis to identify trends, patterns, and anomalies within large datasets using statistical tools and software.
  • Verify data quality to ensure accurate analysis and reporting.
  • Help identify the business data needed to produce the most useful insights and future analytics.
  • Develop and maintain dashboards and reports to visualize data, making it accessible and understandable for non-technical stakeholders.
  • Write and execute SQL queries to retrieve information from databases for specific analysis projects, ensuring data integrity and efficiency.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand data needs and deliver actionable insights through data analysis.
  • Participate in the design and implementation of new data collection and analysis methodologies to improve the quality and efficiency of data-driven decision-making processes.
  • Document analytical methodologies, coding procedures, and statistical findings to ensure transparency and reproducibility of results.
  • Support the maintenance and troubleshooting of data analytics tools and software, including performing updates and ensuring compatibility with data sources.

What You Bring

The ideal candidate will possess the following skills, experience, and qualifications:

  • Currently pursuing post-secondary education in Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Data Science, Engineering, or Business.
  • Analytical thinking with very good problem solving and troubleshooting skills.
  • Clear and concise English language abilities, both written and verbal.
  • Effective communications skills, with the ability to listen and assist where needed.
  • Takes initiative, strong work ethic, can execute and gets things done.
  • Proficient in MS Office Suite, especially Microsoft Excel.
  • Familiarity with data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau).
  • Familiarity with SharePoint.
  • Legally able to work in Canada.

What We Offer

  • Product Care offers a competitive hourly salary (CAD 22 per hour).
  • Vacation will be accrued at the rate of 4% of salary.
  • Duration – 6th May to 9th August 2024 (14 weeks) with 40 hours per week.
