Prince George residents looking to safely dispose of household hazardous waste will have a convenient drop-off opportunity this spring. Product Care Recycling, in partnership with the City of Prince George, the Regional District of Fraser-Fort George, and the Recycling Council of BC, is hosting a free, one-day collection event on Saturday, April 18, 2026, from 10 AM to 2 PM at 805 1st Avenue, Prince George, BC (enter from Scotia Street).
Accepted items include:
| Flammable Liquids | Domestic Pesticides | Gasoline |
These items should never be placed in regular garbage or recycling. When disposed of improperly, they can contaminate soil and waterways or pose risks to waste workers. By bringing these materials to the event, residents help keep hazardous waste out of landfills and support a cleaner environment for the Fraser-Fort George region.
“We often hear from residents who have old products sitting in their garage or basement because they’re unsure how to dispose of them safely,” says Lori Fuller, Recycling Services Supervisor at Product Care Recycling. “Events like this make it easy to take that next step and clear those materials out safely.”
No appointment is needed. Staff will be on site to collect materials directly from residents on Saturday, April 18, 2026, from 10 AM to 2 PM.
