New Brunswick’s paint recycling program launched in 2009 under the Designated Materials Regulation. Product Care Recycling delivers this program in partnership with Recycle New Brunswick, which manages the collection and recycling of leftover paint across the province. Collection sites include retail locations, Regional Service Commissions, and beverage container redemption centres, with additional recycling events held annually.
Residents and eligible businesses (for commercial volumes) can drop off their leftover paint and paint aerosols at designated recycling locations across New Brunswick.
With the recent addition of lamps (light bulbs) as an obligated product under the Designated Materials Regulation, Product Care has submitted a Lamp Stewardship Plan on behalf of its members. Following the Plan’s approval by Recycle New Brunswick, Product Care expects to launch its lamp recycling program in the second half of 2025.
