Product Care manages both the paint and lamp (light) recycling programs in New Brunswick, delivered in partnership with Recycle New Brunswick.
The paint recycling program was launched in 2009 under the Designated Materials Regulation (2008-54). On July 15, 2024, New Brunswick’s Designated Materials Regulation was repealed and replaced by Regulation 2024-37 under the Clean Environment Act (O.C. 2024-166), officially designating lamps as a regulated material. Product Care submitted a Lamp Stewardship Plan on behalf of its members and received approval from Recycle New Brunswick in November 2025. The New Brunswick light recycling program is set to launch on April 1st, 2026.
Collection sites include retail locations, Regional Service Commissions, and beverage container redemption centres, with additional recycling events held annually. Residents and eligible businesses can drop off their leftover paint, paint aerosols, and lamps at designated collection locations across New Brunswick. For commercial volumes, free pick-up may be available upon request to Product Care.
