Ontario’s recycling programs for leftover paint, lighting products, and household hazardous materials are regulated under the Hazardous and Special Products (O. Reg. 449/21) and Electrical and Electronic Equipment (O. Reg. 522/20) regulations.
Product Care Recycling manages these programs on behalf of obligated producers, providing end-of-life collection and recycling for designated materials. Residents and eligible businesses (for commercial volumes) can drop off accepted products at hundreds of recycling locations across the province, including retail stores, municipal depots, and collection events.
