As communicated in our previous notice, Product Care was working toward a tentative December 1, 2025 start date for the Yukon Hazardous and Special Products (HSP) Program, subject to timely plan approval.
As of today, the Yukon Department of Environment’s review of the draft stewardship plan remains ongoing. Further, the original proposed program plan start date was based on the premise of several key conditions, which have now changed since the original submission. As a result, a December 1, 2025 launch is no longer feasible.
This decision has been communicated to the Yukon Government, and Product Care has received acknowledgment that the program will not launch on December 1, 2025.
Product Care will continue to work closely with the Yukon Government to confirm a new start date that provides sufficient advance notice for members to prepare, ideally avoiding the peak holiday period. An updated start date will be communicated once the Plan has been approved and implementation timelines are confirmed.
