The registration portal for the New Brunswick Lamps Program is now open!
If you have already registered with Recycle NB and appointed Product Care as your Producer Responsibility Organization (“PRO”), please complete your registration with Product Care.
If you are not yet registered with Recycle NB, you must first register with Recycle NB and appoint Product Care as your PRO before completing registration with us.

As previously communicated, the NB Lamps Program will launch on April 1st, 2026. For program details, including product categories and Environmental Handling Fees (EHFs), please visit the program page.
Regulatory updates & Registration process
Recent regulatory changes have impacted prospective members of the New Brunswick Lamps Stewardship Program under the Designated Materials Regulation – Clean Environment Act (NB Reg 2024-37).
As of July 15, 2024, the term “producer” officially replaces “brand owner” in the regulation. A producer is now defined as the first party in the supply chain that meets one of the following criteria:
- Brand holder of the designated material with a permanent establishment in Canada.
- Importer into New Brunswick with a permanent establishment in New Brunswick.
- Retailer in New Brunswick that supplies the designated material to consumers.
As a result, during the registration process, companies will be prompted to identify their role in the supply chain based on the criteria above.
Remitter relationships
As a Product Care Member, you are required to remit fees for any obligated lamp products sold or supplied in New Brunswick. Producers may choose to have another party remit fees on their behalf by establishing a Remitter Relationship through Product Care’s Member portal. Remitter Relationships require both parties (remitter and non-remitter) to be registered with the program.
Reporting
Upon registration, members will be required to begin reporting and remitting EHFs for sales made in New Brunswick as of April 1st, 2026.
