We are pleased to announce that Product Care’s New Brunswick Lamps Stewardship Plan was approved by Recycle NB on November 4th, 2025, and is set to start on April 1st, 2026.

Producer registration will open on February 1, 2026. Instructions on how to register and next steps will be provided in a follow-up notice.
We encourage members to review the recent amendments to the Designated Materials Regulation. A summary of these changes can be found here: Key amendments to the Designated Materials Regulation.
Important to note:
- The definition of “Obligated producer” has changed, see the NB Lamps FAQ – “Who is obligated as a Producer?”
- The “Obligated Producer” is required to register with the oversight body, Recycle New Brunswick, at www.recyclenb.com/register
- If you were previously registered with Recycle NB, for another product category (e.g. paint), and meet the definition of obligated producer for lamps, you will still need to register with Recycle NB for lamps.
Environmental Handling Fee (EHF) rates for the New Brunswick Lamps Stewardship Program have been set per the table below:
