The Government of British Columbia amended the Recycling Regulation on October 27, 2025 through Order in Council 476/2025.

Under these amendments, obligated producers of these new obligated product categories must submit a stewardship plan(s) that complies with the Recycling Regulation. The deadlines are as follows:
| New Categories | Deadline for Stewardship Plan Submission | Deadline for Program implementation |
| Canister products and Automotive Products | June 30, 2026 | April 1, 2027 |
| Electronics, battery containing products, and large batteries | December 15, 2026 | August 1, 2027 |
