Dear Collection Partners,
To help inform and facilitate the allocation between non-HSP HHW and HSP products within the commingle system for 2027, and to undertake a more comprehensive study, Product Care will be conducting two lab pack samplings during the summer and fall of 2026.
The first lab pack sampling event will take place at Clean Harbors on June 10, 2026, using HHW/HSP containers collected from communities by the service provider. The second sampling event will take place at DBS, with the date to be confirmed.
Recognizing that communities are key partners in this program, we invite communities participating in commingled collections to observe the study in the spirit of collaboration and transparency.

Due to space limitations and the safety requirements of our service providers, community observers will be limited to a maximum of eight representatives per time slot. Interested participants are asked to email alberta@productcare.org by June 3, indicating their preferred time slot. We will strive to consider all preferences; however, if requests exceed the available capacity, we may not be able to accommodate everyone.
The combined results of the sampling event will inform the allocation for 2027, which will be communicated in late 2026.
