Product Care Association is recruiting for a permanent, full-time Recycling Operations Coordinator position at its Delta, BC office location.

Product Care is a non-profit organization that manages recycling programs across Canada and in the US for lighting products, paint, household hazardous waste, smoke alarms, and other products.

Each program involves a collection system with many collection sites where consumers in that area can drop off unwanted program products, for recycling, without charge.  The program manages the logistics and post-collection management of the collected products.

The Recycling Operations Coordinator is directly involved in all aspects of making sure the programs continue to operate smoothly and efficiently including direct contact with service providers consumers, and regulators. The Operations Coordinator position is also involved in ensuring regulatory compliance and continuous improvement of the programs.

The duties of this position include, but are not limited to:

  • Ensure the efficient operation and effective service delivery of programs, in coordination with other team members.
  • Respond to stakeholder inquiries (public, collection sites, service providers etc.)
  • Recruitment, tracking of collection sites and events to improve the collection system networks
  • Support the team to fulfill program(s) commitments, regulatory compliance, and to improve operational systems, and processes
  • Build and maintain successful relationships with stakeholders and provide timely and quality customer service to all stakeholders
  • Data entry, analysis, quantity reconciliation, invoice review, verification, and approval, and quality control
  • Ensure accurate and effective reporting, both internal and external, including maintaining, improving and development of reporting systems
  • Other administrative functions in support of the operations team and programs

The ideal candidate will have the following attributes:

  • Excellent computer skills are essential to this position including strong working knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) with a preferred keyboard speed of 50+ wpm
  • Ability to anticipate, identify, and resolve service and operational problems with a results-oriented approach to performance
  • Strong organization skills, accuracy, attention to detail, ability to effectively manage multiple/diverse tasks, set priorities and meet deadlines
  • Strong interpersonal communications (written and oral), people skills and customer service
  • Strong analytical aptitude with ability to understand, interpret data and generate reports
  • Self-motivated, team player and operationally driven
  • Possess a valid driver license and have regular access to a vehicle
