Newfoundland and Labrador (NL) paint stewardship program will launch May 1, 2012. The program is required by Newfoundland Multi Materials Stewardship Board (MMSB) to begin operations on April 18, 2012, but the effective date for program fees will be May 1, 2012. Products included in this program are the same products accepted in the BC paint program. The NL paint program stewardship fees will apply to all sales of program products as of May 1, 2012; fee rates can be found here. The Newfoundland regulation does not permit visible stewardship fees; see Part IV, section 31.14.

The regulation requires all brand owners, as defined in the regulation, to register with MMSB (official deadline was December 12, 2010). For more information, see:
