BC Eco Fees
Important Notice - the eco-fees for the 1 gallon and 5 gallon container sizes of the paint category of the Product Care Programs in British Columbia and Saskatchewan have been changed effective February 1, 2011. More information here.
The program is funded entirely by the eco fees remitted by Product Care's industry members. Eco fees paid by members are based on their unit sales in the provinces where Product Care has programs. The eco fee may be shown separately or may be included in the product price. The eco fee is taxable, as it is considered to be a part of the price of regulated products. While the PST and GST (or HST) are remitted to the government, NO PART of the eco fee itself is remitted to the government. Please refer to the Remittance Procedures for more information on reporting and late fees.
